Short Biography

The press ranks pianist Florian Favre among the most brilliant musicians of his generation.
Through his clear and original writing, he offers a demystified, popular, sensitive and eruptive Jazz:
music that doesn't apologize for it's requirements yet isn't only reserved to intellectuals.

After a long stay in New York and New Orleans, the Freiburger pianist incorporates his latest discoveries into the repertoire of his latest trio opus "On a smiling gust of wind" released on the german label Traumton. His trio, with Manu Hagmann on bass and Arthur Alard on drums, plays jazz with surprising twists, lyrical passages and rhythmic sensitivity. Favre's sketches and ideas, in the form of bass lines and melody structures, are filled in by the three musicians with a lot of audacity in improvisation, creating a profound and moving music.
